The Opportunity
The University of the South Pacific seeks to fill the position of Teaching Assistant (Agriculture) in the School of Agriculture, Geography, Environment, Ocean and Natural Sciences (SAGEONS). The appointee will conduct to the teaching of undergraduate agriculture laboratory and field practicles classes and tutorials,engage with industry stakeholders for organizing 20 weeks vocational practical attachement, support Fiji based AG383 students laboratory and field reserach and also support administrative duties for the DAFT includingstudent laboratory and field reserach and also support administrative duties for the DAFT including supervision of mid semester test and Final examination at Laucala Campus.
The Person we Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- a Postgradratuate Diploma in Agriculture/Bachelor of Agriculture with the GPA 3.5 (out of 4.5).
- Knowledge and skill in Soil,crop,livestock and agribusiness
- Teaching experience (tutorials and labs) of Agricultural courses and undergraduate
- excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- ability to learn
Preference will be given to applicants with:
- Masters in Agriculture with relevant teaching experiences as Teaching Assistant
- experience in online distance and flexible learning teaching in multicultural environment'
- willingness to work as a member of a dynamic team and supervising undergraduate research students
- to be able to take advantage of the opportunities presents to develop research with other USP units and relevant external organisations including government departments and CROP agencies.

The position is available for a tTerm of five (5) years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range
- Band 1: FJ $30,090.64 to FJ $36,576.43 per annum
- Band 2: FJ $37,855.63 to FJ $41,971.21 annum
