The Opportunity
The School of Business and Management (SBM) is looking for a dedicated and experienced professionals for the position of Assistant Business Manager within the Graduate School of Business (GSB) based at Laucala Campus. The Graduate School of Business is one of the largest schools at the University of the South Pacific and is well resourced to pursue excellence in teaching, learning, and research. The School offers a range of postgraduate programmes, including the Master of Business Administration (MBA), which is accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA). With continued growth in its MBA and postgraduate offerings, the School is seeking a highly motivated and customer focused individual to join its dynamic team and contribute to the ongoing success and development of the GSB.
The appointee will be responsible for:
- Managing the financial, operational and fiscal activities of the school.
- Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the financial and operating quality of the school.
- Strategically lead and manage the business innovation, financial, premises, personnel and administrative aspects of the school.
- Ensure compliance with Finance policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of accuracy with minimal errors and queries on documents reviewed and processed.
- Administrative reporting and responding to queries.
- Preparing budgets and financial reports.
The Person we Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- A degree and postgraduate qualifications in Accounting or Finance or from a relevant discipline; and
- Four (4) years of relevant experience and management expertise.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, with a high level of proficiency in English.
- Proven experience in report writing skills.
- Expertise in budget preparation, financial management, monitoring and control within a large organisation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated experience in managing an administrative section.
- Proven and successful leadership experience, with the ability to effectively lead.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning.
- Sound knowledge and expertise in financial management systems, processes and procedures.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of external stakeholders and partners.
- Understanding of school management issues and the role and responsibilities of a governing body.

The position is available for a term of 3 years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range
- FJ$52,546 to FJ$64,371 per annum
