About Estates & Infrastructure Services

Estates & Infrastructure Services is responsible for the management and strategic oversight of USP's property, buildings and infrastructure across its campuses and centres in the 12 member countries.

Its portfolio includes Strategic Asset Management, Maintenance Services, Design and Project Management Services, Occupational Health and Safety, Sustainability, and DISMAC Services.

The Manager, Conferencing & Lodge Services will provide strategic and operational leadership for USP's multi-campus conferencing and lodge services portfolio.

This is a key management role responsible for delivering high-quality, customer-focused, commercially sustainable and compliant services across the University's conferencing venues and lodge accommodation.

The Manager will oversee:

  • Conferencing venue sales, bookings and event coordination;
  • End-to-end event delivery and customer experience;
  • Lodge accommodation operations;
  • Vendor and service contracts, including catering and other specialist services;
  • Coordination with campus Facilities and Venue Management teams;
  • Service quality, operational efficiency and performance reporting; and
  • Integration of supporting services to ensure seamless delivery to external clients and USP users.

The role operates across USP's regional network, with conferencing venues and lodge accommodation in Fiji, Samoa, Vanuatu and the Marshall Islands.The successful candidate will lead a core regional team comprising a Coordinator and two Officers in Fiji, and one Officer each in Samoa and the Marshall Islands.

The role will also work closely with local Facilities Management teams responsible for services such as cleaning, waste management, pest control, furniture and logistics, while engaging specialist external providers where required to support efficient and effective service delivery. The Conferencing & Lodge Services portfolio operates as part of this broader shared-services environment, requiring strong collaboration across operational, facilities and support functions. The Person we Seek

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • A degree and a postgraduate qualification in Hospitality/Event Management, Business or related field; and
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience in conferencing/events/hospitality with multi-site oversight and proven management expertise; or
  • A degree or professional qualification in Hospitality/Event Management, Business, or related field with 10 years of relevant industry/professional experience may be considered.
  • Excellent team leadership and coordination skills;
  • Proficiency in facilities management systems and reporting tools;
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement;
  • Experience with sustainability planning and digital tools for service tracking;
  • Familiarity with Pacific region operational contexts is desirable.

The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.

Salary Range

  • FJ$81,690 to FJ$100,073 per annum
