The Opportunity
The First Year Experience Coordinator (FYEC) plays a vital role in supporting students as they transition from pre-tertiary education into university life. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the first-year student experience by fostering engagement, improving satisfaction, and contributing to increased retention and completion rates. Working collaboratively with academic and professional staff across the university, the FYEC will also partner with the Centre for Flexible Learning to implement initiatives that promote student success, strengthen early connections, and ensure a positive start to students' higher education journey.
The Person we Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- A good Bachelor’s degree from a relevant discipline; and
- Three (3) years of relevant experience and management expertise in the tertiary institution of similar nature;
- Excellent IT skills, innovative and results oriented;
- Possess very good communication skills (Oral and Written) and Good interpersonal skills;
- A person of Integrity and confidentiality;
- Ability to undertake Professional Development Training;
- Experience in working with learners in the Pacific region;
- Experience in carrying out multiple activities within tight deadlines;
- Preference will be given to applicants with very good social media and marketing skills;
- A strong customer service orientation for Drop-in and Schools collaboration; and Willingness to participate in the general activities of the University

The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range
- FJ $45,408.30 to FJ $ 55,627.11 per annum
