The Opportunity
The University of the South Pacific (USP) is the premier tertiary institution in the Pacific region. The Division of Marketing and Communications is looking for an Manager Public Relations & Communications. The Manager Public Relations and Communications (MPRC) will conceptualise, plan and implement the University’s internal and external communications. The MPRC will ensure consistent and clear communication in alignment with USP’s mission and values.
The Person we Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- A degree and a postgraduate qualification in Journalism, Communication, Public Relations or related field; and
- Five (5) years of relevant experience and proven management expertise;
- Sound knowledge of Higher Education Industry;
- Experience in developing and implementing media, advocacy or PR campaigns;
- Experience in planning and implementing online PR campaigns;
- Extensive experience implementing operational plans;
- Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a community and national level;
- Strong relationships with regional media outlets;
- Experience in acting as a company spokesperson; comfortable and skilled in both broadcast and print media interviews;
- Experience in Budget management;
- Experience in presenting to a wide range of audiences; and
- Managing a team successfully and planning professional and skills development for a team.

The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range
- FJ $67,851 to FJ $83,120 per annum
