The Opportunity

The University of the South Pacific (USP) is seeking a Program Engagement and Marketing Officer to join our Laucala Campus. Under the direction of the Manager, International Office, the Program Engagement and Marketing Officer will be responsible to drive USP’s international student recruitment. This dynamic role will lead all marketing campaigns to attract prospective students through digital outreach and partner engagement. Also, manage inbound study tours, fostering key relationships with global partners to enhance student mobility and program growth. The Program Engagement and Marketing Officer will operate in a dynamic, entrepreneurial capacity to manage the entire lifecycle of the University's short courses.

The appointee will be responsible to:

  • Coordinate all existing short courses (both credit and non-credit), the develop new programs aligned with market demand, and the continuous monitoring of student satisfaction to ensure quality.
  • Market and recruit international students.
  • Execute a range of marketing activities, including creating promotional materials, representing USP at recruitment fairs, organizing campus visits for partners, and conducting market research to identify new opportunities.
  • Serve as a key liaison with university faculties to ensure all program information is current and effectively communicated to prospective international students.
  • Provide high-level student and partner support, leveraging strong administrative and entrepreneurial skills to achieve enrollment targets and program growth.

The Person we Seek

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • A degree in business, marketing, management or related discipline with two years subsequent relevant experience;
  • Proven experience delivering exceptional customer service, ideally within a higher education institution;
  • Strong ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines with accuracy and efficiency;
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in making high quality decisions;
  • Effective team player with the ability to work in a team and independently when required;
  • Demonstrated understanding of cultural awareness and sensitivity;
  • Proficient in computer skills including MS Office and internet applications;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across phone, email, and face-to-face interactions with the clients;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills;
  • Confident public speaking and presentation skills;
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities;
  • Ability to work independently within broad guidelines while consistently meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to participate in 24-hour emergency response rotation;
  • Willingness to work after hours and weekends as required;
  • Willingness to participate in  overnight village trips when necessary;
  • Ability to travel by bus, automobile, boat, or plane as required;
  • Any additional duties as assigned by the Manager, USP International.

The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.

Salary Range

  • FJ $34,220.34 to FJ $40,473.14 per annum
