The Opportunity

As a member of the Free Access to Law Movement, it is PacLII’s mission to make Pacific law accessible for free online, promoting transparency and strengthening the rule of law throughout the region.

The successful candidate will be based in Vanuatu Campus under the Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute (PacLII). Operating within the School of Law and Social Sciences (SoLaSS), PacLII provides a comprehensive and integrated system of public legal information from 20 Pacific Island jurisdictions, that is relied upon by a broad range of stakeholders.

The Editor - Legislation reports to the Senior Editor - Legislation. The Editor – Legislation collects, digitizes, edits, formats, and publishes legal materials, ensures that accuracy and quality standards are met, liaises with legal professionals as required, assists users, and contributes to the efficient and timely publication of legal materials.

The Person we Seek

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • A degree with one (1) year of relevant work experience; or   
  • A diploma and three (3) years of relevant work experience, specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or
  • A combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent legal research skills
  • Capable of working under pressure
  • Change oriented and flexible
  • Awareness of PacLII website layout and functionalities
  • Citizenship of Vanuatu.

The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.

Salary Range

  • VUV 2,384,756 to VUV 2,786,119 per annum
