The USP Tonga Campus delivers the University’s strategic objectives locally and supports Tonga, as a USP Member Country, in the social, economic, and cultural development of its students and communities. The Student Engagement Officer will support the Hub Coordinator Student Engagement by assisting in the delivery of student events and initiatives, contributing to an inclusive and engaging student experience at the Tonga Campus.
The University of the South Pacific (USP) is seeking suitable applications for the position of Student Engagement Officer based at Tonga Campus. The Student Engagement Officer will work with the Hub Coordinator Student Engagement to deliver a programme of events and initiatives for students in each campus to ensure an equitable and positive experience during their programme of study at USP.
Specific Duties
Specific duties may include:
- Plan, orgainse, and deliver student engagement activities and events (orientation, sports, recreation, careers programmes)
- Support student welfare, wellbeing, and academic engagement
- Promote and inclusive, safe, and enabling campus environment
- Facilitate student participation in campus life programmes
- Develop partnerships, sponsorships, and community engagement initiatives
- Monitor and report on student satisfaction and programme outcomes
Strategic Contribution:
- Enhance student experience, engagement, and retention
- Support USP’s goal of holistic student development and wellbeing
- Strengthen campus life and regional support services
The Person we Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- An Undergraduate Degree in a relevant discipline with one year experience or a Diploma with at least two years of subsequent work experience.
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite packages including MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel.
- Experience working with students at a tertiary institution or equivalent.

The position is available for a term of three years renewable.
Salary Range
- Grade 4: TOP32,471 per annum to TOP40,279 per annum.
