The Opportunity

The USP Emalus Campus delivers the University’s strategic objectives locally and supports Vanuatu, as a USP Member Country, in the social, economic, and cultural development of its students and communities. The University is seeking to appoint a Finance Officer. The incumbent will manage day to day financial operations including procure to pay (P2P), accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and cash handling at the Emalus Campus.

The Person we Seek

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years subsequent relevant experience or
  • Diploma with 4 years relevant experience in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Experience in financial operation, preferably in education or public sector.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and cash handling.
  • Experience with financial systems and ERP software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to support students and staff.
  • Integrity, accountability, and commitment to USP’s values.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.

The position is available for a term of 3 years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.

Salary Range

  • VUV2,786,119 to VUV3,187,483 per annum
