The Opportunity
The appointee will assist in the preparation and administration of the laboratory and practical classes of the Soil Science/Agriculture students. The appointee will also be responsible for looking after Soil Science Research Projects.
Specific Duties
Specific duties may include:
- Assist the Senior Technician in running of Agricultural students' laboratory and field classes
- Prepare lab equipment and reagents for students' practical classes;
- Assist soil, plant and animal feed analysis
- Assist Postgraduate students for field research work
- Prepare samples for analysis;
- Cleaning and maintain lab equipment
- Supervise Laboratory Assistants and Student Interns working in the Laboratory
- Ensure that OHS is adhered in the labs at all times
The Person we Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or Soil Science or Chemistry with relevant work experience in Soil Science Laboratory OR a Diploma in Agriculture with at least 5 years’ experience in Soil Science Laboratory;
- A good command of English
- Computer literacy with competency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel software
- Strong and Healthy

Salary Range
- Grade 4 Step 1 - $34,736.36 - 41,753.27
