The Opportunity

The School invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and highly motivated individuals for the position of Lecturer in Management and Public Administration. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning by delivering courses across undergraduate, postgraduate, and master's programmes in Management and Public Administration. The appointee will also be expected to maintain an active research agenda, producing high quality research within their area of expertise and contributing to the School's thematic research priorities. The role also involves contributing to programme and curriculum development, supervising student learning, supporting academic administration, and participating in marketing, outreach and engagement activities, industry engagement, while advancing the University's mission and strategic priorities as outlined in the University Strategic Plan.

The School of Business and Management

The Person we Seek

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • a PhD in the relevant discipline with relevant tertiary teaching and/or research experience; or
  • in exceptional cases, a Master’s degree or professional qualification with relevant teaching experience or relevant industry/professional experience or a significant research profile;
  • Substantial teaching experience and a strong research profile;
  • Ability to contribute to programme marketing activities, including participating in information sessions, engaging with prospective students, and supporting accreditation processes;
  • The capacity and willingness to teach across undergraduate, postgraduate, and master’s level programmes;
  • Demonstrated competence in research, academic administration, curriculum development, and other related scholarly activities;
  • Proven excellence in teaching within a multicultural learning environment, with high-quality research publications and evidence of maintaining subject expertise considered an advantage;
  • The ability to undertake academic and administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Head of School and Discipline Coordinator, contributing to the effective delivery of School activities;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, colleagues, public and private sectors, and other stakeholders.

The position is available for a term of five years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.

Salary Range

  • FJ$90,493 to FJ$119,068 per annum.
