The Opportunity

The Estates and Infrastructure Services is responsible for the management and strategic oversight of the University’s property, buildings and infrastructure at all campuses and centers throughout its 12-member countries. Strategic Asset Management, Property Maintenance, Building & Property Standards and Design Services, Occupational Health & Safety Standards, and the Project Management of Major Capital works are key areas within the Section of E & I Services working together to ensure the physical estate supports the University Strategic and Academic Plans for the campuses. These include being the drivers of key campus sustainability initiatives, including energy, water & space efficiency as well as waste management through the adoption and maintenance of internationally recognized and benchmarked property and service standards.
The Estates and Infrastructure team is looking for Manager OHS & DISMAC Services. The Manager OHS & DISMAC Services is responsible promoting a culture of safety and disaster resilience. The role is key for influencing policy and implementing a system of awareness and preparedness. The role has a significant influence on USPs risks management strategies to keep safe our staff, students and visitors to the USP.

Specific Duties
Specific duties may include:
- Leading the development and influence of OHS and DISMAC policy, plans and systems of USP and administering the OHS Compliance certifications for the campuses;
- Monitoring and reporting on compliance of OHS & DISMAC plans and systems;
- Establishing and monitoring the University's OHS and DISMAC induction and training programs;
- Facilitating the investigation or review of accidents, incidents and disaster responses, for continuous improvement of OHS nod DISMAC plans and systems;
- Assisting with Campus Risk Management mitigation and reporting initiatives.
The Person we Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- A degree and a postgraduate qualification in Occupation Health and Safety, Disaster Management or relevant field; and
- Five (5) years of relevant experience and proven management expertise;
- Additional formal certification in training of trainers or training and assessment, or being a registered trainer would be a distinct advantage;
- Excellent Communications. interpersonal skills and a customer services orientation;
- Excellent Presentation and Writing Skills;
- Strong attention to detail. strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Experience in risk management in the context of managing project risks;
- Proven leadership skills, capable of achieving key objectives with minimal supervision;
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools;
- Additional certification in Training of Trainers, OHS Module I – IV or Training and Assessment, or registration as a trainer (advantageous).

The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range
- FJ$70,592 to FJ$86,479 per annum
